I might be posting this to make sure—after a declaration of “I’m going to blog more”—that I get at least one post up within a week.
Exceeding expectations by lowering them.
Here’s a random assortment of things and thoughts from the last few days.
If you want to see how bad things are going, I recommend following Web3 is going just great.
“Fidelity plans to allow people to put retirement savings into Bitcoin”
The short version: Fidelity Investments wants to offer crypto for retirement savings despite the U.S. Department of Labor’s guidance in March.
Longer version over at Web3 is going just great.
First up, Madison Cawthorn is a mess. This could be a full-time gig. He keeps playing one-upmanship with himself.
The whole “I was invited to an orgy” thing was blasted out of the news cycle when Cawthorn got busted for driving with a revoked license.
Then he took the position of calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a “thug” and suggested the Ukrainian government was evil.
Then Cawthorn tried to board a plane with a loaded handgun—for the second time.
Coming full circle, you must wonder if he took them up on the invitation.
Next up is Marjorie Taylor Greene who’s showing a solid grasp of what she’s talking about in this New York Times piece on the ongoing January 6 investigation.
“In our private chat with only Members, several are saying the only way to save our Republic is for Trump to call for Marshall law,” Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, Republican of Georgia, wrote to Mr. Meadows on Jan. 17, 2021, misspelling the word “martial.”
Will the real insurrectionists please stand up?
This is a great idea—tight fluid macro videos of inks and soaps. I might have to loop this on a second display in the office.

It takes me back to this shoot for Duke University Press so long ago: Smoke. No Mirrors. Which now reminds me I need to go back and redesign that site.
Finally, a picture, because why not. Took this at my in-laws back on Easter.
